The name is part of the fun: \"\u003c\/span\u003epotes\"\u003cspan\u003e is French slang for friends.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBecause Savagnin isn’t part of the traditional Mâcon appellations, the wine is bottled simply as Vin de France. The project covers only around half a hectare spread between the three growers, making this a decidedly small-production curiosity.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThere’s a lovely combination of freshness and texture here. Pear, quince and white peach sit alongside citrus peel, flowers and a slightly herbal edge, while Savagnin’s naturally bright acidity gives the wine plenty of energy. The finish is dry, stony and gently saline.
