The 2022 vintage enjoyed a warm, sunny growing season, producing beautifully ripe fruit while retaining the freshness essential to great Champagne. Extended ageing on the lees adds texture and complexity, while the Extra Brut dosage keeps the focus firmly on the fruit and the distinctive chalky character of Bouzy.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eGolden apple, ripe pear and fresh citrus mingle with toasted brioche, white flowers and a hint of roasted hazelnut. The palate has a lovely combination of richness and precision, with fine, energetic bubbles and a mineral quality that gives the wine real definition. There's a subtle savoury note on the long, refreshing finish that makes another glass rather tempting. Fabulous as an aperitif, but equally at home with oysters, scallops, roast chicken or a generous plate of aged Comté.
