Luigi Baudana is one of the smallest active wineries in the entire Barolo region. With only 2,6 hectares (6.4 acres) farmed in some of the prime crus of the village, this can rightly be considered a true 'garagiste' producer. Since 2009 the production of these wines has been entrusted to the legendary Vajra family to continue the legacy of the Baudana name and wines.
The 2017 vintage is rich and round, packed with bright cherry pie plum tart and earth flavors showing flourishes of menthol and tobacco. The tannins are well-mannered and a mineral note emerges on the lingering aftertaste. Best from 2024 through 2045.
