Grapes: 100% Chardonnay
Made by the young winemaker David Croix, this is a simply stunning Corton Charlemagne, and a blend of two parcels in Charlemagne, both southwest-facing and planted on silty limestone marls.
The wine undergoes indigenous yeast alcoholic fermentation in uncovered wooden vats with 15-20 days total maceration time. It then spends 1 year aging in older oak barrels, then a few months blended in tank. Showing lots of lemon notes and brioche, this drinks superbly now, but will reward some patient ageing.
