The Sandro Fay Ca' Morei Valtellina Superiore is a truly intriguing wine from the Alpine region of Lombardy, Italy. It's made from 100% Nebbiolo, locally known as "Chiavennasca," grown on steep, terraced vineyards in the Valgella sub-zone of Valtellina Superiore DOCG. This unique terroir gives it a distinctive character compared to its Piedmontese cousins (Barolo and Barbaresco).
It offers a more agile and often brighter expression of the grape than many Piedmontese versions, while still possessing the structure and complexity for significant aging. It's a wine that balances power with grace, perfect for pairing with traditional Valtellina dishes like pizzoccheri, as well as roasted meats, game, or aged cheeses.
