Grapes: 100% Chardonnay

Domaine Vocoret & Fils, located near the town of Auxerre, is the epitome of a hands-on, family-owned estate. For five generations, the domaine has been passed down from father to son, with numerous uncles and cousins working at the estate.

Les Clos, the largest of the Chablis grands crus , is named for the stone wall that once enclosed it, as is the tradition in the Côte d’Or. Located between Blanchots and Valmur, this vineyard has rocky limestone soils and a southern exposure. Fermented in oak puncheons for six to eight months, the wine exudes pear and apple scents infused with white flowers and minerality. On the palate, ripe golden apple and pear flavors combine with briny oyster shell minerality. Basically the Rolls Royce of Chablis, and a wine that will age superbly for 7-15 years.
