Grapes: 100% Melon de Bourgogne
Jean-Baptiste refined his winemaking education under the instruction of Meursault master Jean-Marc Roulot. He took over a portion of his family's estate planted in primarily Melon de Bourgogne. His wines are pressed at low pressure and aged on the lees for 12 months in glass lined underground tanks and bottled without fining or filtering. His two cuvées show remarkable textural richness, as well as detailed, stony minerality; with single-plot bottlings expressing the region's unique 'gabbro' (black granite) soils from different perspectives.
'Clos de Lozangère', which spends 12 months in barrel, combines ripe fruit from its southerly exposure, with smoke and oyster shell nuances and a luxurious, creamy texture.
