The vibrancy of Aurélien Verdet’s wines reflects his personal passion and commitment to organic winemaking. As the third generation of his family to grow grapes in Burgundy, his approach reflects an inherited conscience from his father, Alain, who was a pioneer in organic viticulture and winemaking. Continuing the commitment to sustainable and organic practices, his wines capture the authenticity of their terroir and deliver purity, finesses and elegance. The wines are made in a style that is both accessible when young, yet will age gracefully for years.
The 2018 vintage of his Nuits Saint Georges shows plenty of blackcurrant, floral notes and earthiness. Medium bodied, this is a really lively & complex Pinot from Verdet, with beautiful powdery tannins and a long finish with a touch of salinity.
