Grapes: Predominantly Pinot Noir with a significant portion of Chardonnay
In Ambonnay’s chalky slopes, Egly-Ouriet creates Champagnes that combine depth, silk and terroir-drive. Their Rosé Extra Brut Grand Cru is a standout of restraint and expression—crafted with minimal dosage and extended ageing on lees to allow both fruit and soil to shine.
The wine is blended from estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with a small addition of still red wine to lift complexity and colour. After primary fermentation the base wines rest on their lees for several years before disgorgement with an ultra-low sugar addition, delivering purity of line and fine mousse.
On the nose, expect notes of wild strawberry, raspberry, citrus zest and crushed chalk. The palate is finely textured—bright red fruit balanced by minerality, subtle oak warmth and chalky tension that carries into a graceful finish. Elegant yet substantial, this Champagne is built for both immediate enjoyment and deeper ageing.
