One of the most famous wineries in Piedmont in the 19th Century, Burlotto was one of the first Barolo producers to win medals in international competitions. G.B. Burlotto is a small estate in the Piedmont village of Verduno. Winemaking remains very traditional, with grapes crushed by foot, and very long macerations. Barrel aging usually takes place in large French oak barrels, rather than Slavonian ones.
