This 1er Cru bottling from Monthelie sits at the crossroads of intensity and refinement. From Roulot’s careful farming and restrained élevage emerges a white Burgundy that feels generous in fruit yet anchored by palpable chalky tension and precision.
A gentle press and native-yeast fermentation give way to élevage in fine French oak (a modest portion new), building texture without dilution. The nose opens with pear blossom, lemon rind, and white peach, followed by subtle almond skin and wet stone. On the palate, the wine is layered and crisp — orchard fruit and citrus concentrate meet a streak of saline minerality, carried by bright acidity into a finish that feels both poised and persistent.
