From Paso Robles, Giornata is the project of Brian and Stephy Terrizzi, focused on Italian varieties grown in California with a clear, site-driven approach. Their wines balance California sun with restraint and freshness, often exploring traditional Italian styles through a local lens.
“Orangotango” is their skin-contact white, fermented with native yeasts and left on the skins to build texture, color, and structure. Aged in neutral vessels, the wine is crafted to emphasize grip and aromatic complexity without heaviness.
Vibrant and textural, it shows notes of orange peel, apricot, and dried herbs, with a subtle tea-like grip from the skin contact. The palate is lively yet structured, with bright acidity balancing the wine’s gentle tannin. Slightly savory on the finish, it pairs beautifully with charcuterie, spiced dishes, or roasted vegetables. This is fresh, textured yet incredibly approachable Orange wine, with minimal intervention.
