From the western Loire, Ollivier-Cottenceau works within Muscadet Sèvre et Maine to highlight the precision and aging potential of the region’s best sites. The Clisson cru, with its granite-rich soils and longer élevage requirements, produces wines with added depth and structure while retaining the hallmark freshness of Muscadet.
The 2018 “Clisson” is aged extensively on its lees, well beyond standard Muscadet, building texture and integration without the use of oak. This prolonged contact with the lees gives the wine a broader, more layered profile while preserving its natural mineral drive.
Focused yet textural, it shows notes of lemon zest, green apple, and a hint of orchard fruit, alongside a subtle savory edge. The palate is rounder than classic Muscadet, with a gentle creaminess balanced by bright acidity and a pronounced saline, mineral finish. A natural match for oysters, shellfish, or simply prepared seafood.
