Grape: 94% Zinfandel 6% Petite Syrah
Rattlesnake Zinfandel is a tribute to the crest called Rattlesnake Hill, the highest point of the Monte Rosso Vineyard. It’s famous for the rattlesnakes living among the vines, seeking the abundant sunshine by day and coiling around and inside the vines at nightfall. Monte Rosso’s elevation and aspect determinedly inform character-driven wines. The vineyard’s southwestern facing slopes drain quickly and encourage vines to reach deep into the earth for ultra-concentrated, site-specific flavors.
"The 2021 Zinfandel Rattlesnake contains 6% Petite Sirah and was matured for 14 months in 30% new French and American oak. It has open, inviting aromas of red and black cherries and plums, charcuterie, cardamom and star anise. The full-bodied palate is velvety and refreshing with layered, perfumed flavors, integrated oak spices and a long finish."
