Wenzel has become one of Burgenland’s most exciting producers, crafting wines that balance purity, freshness, and a strong sense of place. “Aus dem Kalk” — meaning “from the limestone” — comes from vineyards rooted in limestone-rich soils along the western shores of Lake Neusiedl. Farmed with a thoughtful low-intervention philosophy and fermented with native yeasts, the wine captures Blaufränkisch in a more lifted, mineral-driven style.
Bright sour cherry, blackberry, cracked pepper, and dried herbs unfold across a vibrant palate with fine tannins and lively acidity. Savory, energetic, and beautifully balanced, it’s a striking expression of both grape and terroir.
Serve lightly chilled with grilled meats, mushroom dishes, paprika-spiced foods, or Alpine cheeses.

- To exchange we require the faulty product to be returned to the store.
- For returns of wines which are corked, please re-seal after tasting and return us the (nearly) full bottle. We cannot exchange if the bottle has been consumed.
- If the same product is not available, we will refund in full to the original form of payment.
- Any returns are at the customer’s expense.
