Grapes: 100% Chardonnay

Guy Roulot, a legendary producer of some of the finest Meursault, if not some of the world’s finest white wines, took his family’s small production domaine to stardom. Since his death in 1982, his son Jean-Marc has brought even more notice to a domaine that had already enjoyed a great reputation. The wines of Domaine Roulot are now among the most sought after wines in all of Burgundy, with even this village-level Meursault is among the region's most in demand wines.

The 2024 brings together fruit from several parcels around Meursault, offering a broader picture of the village rather than the character of one particular vineyard. The cooler, challenging growing season produced smaller quantities, but also wines with appealing freshness and definition. Roulot's careful handling in the cellar adds depth and texture without overwhelming the fruit, allowing the individual components to come together beautifully.

Lemon, crisp pear and green apple lead into white flowers, toasted almond and a delicate touch of spice. There's a lovely tension between the wine's silky texture and its bright, energetic acidity, with a subtle mineral quality carrying through the long, focused finish. This is Meursault with all the elegance and complexity you'd hope for, but none of the excess. Give it a little time in the glass and enjoy with scallops, roast turbot, lobster or chicken with morels.
