Grapes: 47% Cabernet Franc, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 12% Merlot
Hexameter began with the simple question: How compelling can a Cabernet Franc-focused wine from the Ovid vineyard be? That early Experiment from 2005 produced an intriguing Franc-centric wine, and the next four years were used to refine the wine, particularly honing in on the best blocks within the vineyard.
The result of a tumultuous 2017 season is some of the best wine ever to come from Ovid. The 2017 Hexameter exudes enfolding aromas of rhubarb, blueberry, black cherry, baking spice, Jordan almond and sage. Vibrancy and freshness complement the resonant and undeniably delicious power of this incredible vintage.
