In 2021, Tyler acquired Fiddlestix Vineyard, first planted in 1998, immediately adjacent to Sanford & Benedict vineyard in the southern corridor of the Santa Barbara appellation. In concert with the Mae Estate to the north, these holdings privilege the folks at Tyler to tell a comprehensive story of the Sta. Rita’s diverse terroir. And it begins in the vineyard. In this new wine, they have married selections from Mae and Fiddlestix to share with you the complexity of the Sta. Rita region.
The 2023 Pinot Noir opens with aromas of red cherry, blueberry, rhubarb and touches of dried tobacco. On the palate, it is silky, precise and savory, concluding with a juicy core of staining bright fruits with earthy touches, lifted acidity and gently drying tannins. It's a classic, tried-and-true overview of Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir.
