Grapes: 100% Riesling
The āGackes Obenā is sourced from a prime, central parcel of the Ritch above the āGackes,ā a small wall of slate. TheseĀ vines of 70 years old are mostly grafted and in the highest elevation of the vineyard at 220m where it is very windy, but also gets very direct sun. 25g of residual sugar.Ā
This 2023 wine has subtle elements of minerals, herbaceousness, grapefruit zest, whipped cream, and earthy spices. The wine is firmly off dry on the palate at first, but has a nice zesty side that adds structure to the finish.
